From 7 – 9 June 2017, the Human Rights, Big Data and Technology Project participated in the ITU AI for Good Global Summit, with Lorna McGregor speaking on a panel on ‘Ethical Development of AI’ as part of the Breakthrough Groups on Privacy and Ethics and Vivian Ng speaking on a panel on ‘Promoting Equality in Access to AI’ as part of the Breakthrough Groups on Capacity Building.
The Summit provided a platform for government officials, UN agencies, NGOs, industry leaders, and AI experts to discuss the ethical, technical, societal and policy issues related to AI, offer recommendations and guidance, and promote international dialogue and cooperation in support of AI innovation.
